Hill Country Herd

Site Last Updated 2/5/08

When William talked about selling out most of his herd and taking a year off from goats we jumped at the chance to bring in some of his wonderful genetics to our herd.  We will be doing all the upkeep of the herd for the next year including, breeding, showing and selling offspring.  There are some lovely breedings coming up on these girls don't miss your chance to add a beautiful Hill Country's Nigerian to your herd.  We are super excited about these girls and hope that you will be too!  If you have any questions about the does on this page, their planned breedings or to make a reservation on a kid please feel free to email us at: lostvalleygoats@earthlink.net    Together we can carry on the Hill Country legacy.  Thanks!

Alabama is the perfect example of what linebreeding can do.  This doe is dairy, dairy, dairy.  Bama is long, deep bodied with a wonderful topline and a beautiful udder.  About the only thing I'd like to change on this doe is to give her a bit stronger MSL, and possibly a bit more teat delineation.  She's got a personality to boot and has thrown some gorgeous kids.                                                                              Bred to Lost Valley KW Pegasus *S                                              $600 for does or bucks

Carmen is a beautiful dairy doe, long level what an amazing udder!  Excuse the poor photos above they do not begin to do this lovely girl justice.  Carmen's udder is so lovely, she has an extremely high wide rear udder but being a Dallas daughter doesn't display the strongestt MSL.                                             Next planned breeding to MCH Lost Valley Malachi *S                             $600 for does or bucks

Vera is a beautiful Prince daughter who has had the unfortunate disadvantage of always being fresh when we have 4 other does in her class.  Vera is a very dairy doe with a beautiful udder and we have decided to hold her over in attempts to get her shown next fall.  This doe deserves to be in the ring and have the chance to really "strut her stuff" we are excited about her in the future of our program.  We highly value all our Prince daughters and she is just as beautiful as her 3 MCH sisters! Vera didn't settle to Kingwood in his last days so will not be fresh for fall, she is in the breeding pen for spring and we can't wait to show her.                                                                                                                                                                   Freshened with 2 does Lost Valley KW Eskimo Joe *S                                       $450 for does or bucks

Excuse the poor photo of a lovely little doe.  The Kingwood/Tahoe cross is one of my favorites and this little gal is no exception.  She placed extremely well this show season.  She has a well attached udder that doesn't move.  She is long and has good depth throughout.                                             Next planned breeding possibly to Fairlea Jean Luc *S                                     Does or bucks $400

Well I know you've seen me say this before but once again here is another lovely Kingwood/Tahoe cross!  Kiowa promptly went out and won her Junior leg at her first show!  Then followed it up by going RGCH @ New Mexico State Fair! We are super excited to see how this little doe freshens out.                                To be bred to MCH Lost Valley Tae-Bo +*S E        for Spring 08 kids            Does $350

Oooooo we are excited about this little doe, she still is working on her people skills, but has shown and placed very well every time shown.  We are super excited to see how this little one matures, watch for her in the show ring! Update, Carolina and her sister Tallulah have both gotten their Jr legs.                     To be bred for Sping 08 kids to Lost Valley KWKingRanchEdition *S                                          Does $350

This is quite the pretty little doe a double up on Kingwood genetics and we couldn't be more pleased.  She has the most beautiful front end assembly being very smoothly blended and having nice tight shoulders.  She is very long and level and stands on great feet and legs.  She placed 2nd right behind her herdmate Nala who went on to be JrCh twice.  Very proud of this pretty doe and of Mercury, we can't wait to see her freshen!  To be bred for Spring 08 kidding to DAX Jumanji *S                   Does $350

This is quite the pretty pair.  The buckling has blue eyes the doe is brown eyed.  They are both gold & white in color and are the spitting image of each other & their dam Carmen.  Both of these kids are very long & level with beautiful escutcheons, nice feet & legs, nice long lean necks.  They are maturing quite nicely and we hope to have pictures soon.
